About the Staff

Katrina

Katrina “Kat” Paz is a leadership enthusiast and self-confessed Kindle Unlimited addict. Born in Manila, Philippines to a former professor and a multi-business owner who sold frozen chickens and nightgowns from their home, Kat was raised to value both education and entrepreneurship.

After graduating with her master’s degree from the Johns Hopkins School of Public Health, Kat joined the biotech and pharmaceutical industry first as a programmer then as a proud people manager. She joyously married a fellow techie who worked about ten steps away from her desk.

Kat currently works as a Director of Clinical Programing and has been running businesses during nights and weekends, from selling on eBay for over two decades, to selling legal insurance, to establishing a vending business, and to running rental properties. Her current entrepreneurial goal is to establish various services and products for entrepreneurs and freelancers who are individuals with disabilities.

Lolita

Lolita Gelle, who has faced dystonia affecting her left leg since the age of nine, has navigated a path marked by unwavering dedication to social development and community organizing.

Lolita holds a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Social Development and Community Organizing from St. Scholastica’s College Manila. From 1995 to 2009, she immersed herself in human rights advocacy, serving as a program officer for various organizations. During this period, Lolita embarked on her journey as a grant writer, successfully securing millions in funding for human rights campaigns.

From 2009 to the present, she transitioned to the disability sector, assuming the role of a grant writer. In this capacity, Lolita has played a crucial role in fundraising and grant writing, submitting project proposals to funders based in Europe, the Philippines, Australia, and the United States. Her efforts have facilitated the approval of millions of dollars to support the missions of the organizations she collaborated with in previous years. Her emphasis on livelihood, entrepreneurship, and capacity building has had a positive impact on thousands of individuals with disabilities.
